MEET THE

LEADERSHIP

I am excited to be leading the team at Bridgeport Rescue Mission. God has been faithful to Bridgeport Rescue Mission since 1993, when our founders, Reverend Jim and Tammy Watson, started the Mission by providing sandwiches out of the back of their old station wagon. In 1996, the Mission acquired the Fanny Crosby home at 1088 Fairfield Avenue. We have been on a path of expansion and growth ever since. In February 2022, we moved into our new Community Care Center campus at 725 Park Avenue. The Care Center has enabled us to bring our services and programs under one roof and increase the number of people served. We now offer medical care and other support services on-site in our Resource Center through partnerships with medical professionals and human service providers.

Through the years, Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s goal and purpose have remained: To fight poverty from the inside out by expanding hope and rebuilding lives.

We exist to serve the poor and those in need in Connecticut and offer hope and restoration to those recovering from alcohol or drug abuse. It is a challenging ministry but with great satisfaction as we witness God change a life and give people hope for this world and the next.
