At Bridgeport Rescue Mission, food is more than nourishment—it’s an opportunity to serve with dignity, build trust, and restore hope. Our Food Outreach Program is a vital entry point for individuals and families facing food insecurity across Connecticut. Through our Community Pantry, hot meals, mobile services, and seasonal outreach, we provide practical support to neighbors navigating hardship. Whether someone needs groceries for the week or a warm meal today, they can count on us to show up with compassion, consistency, and care.
Rooted in decades of service and expanded in recent years to meet growing needs, our program is designed to ensure no one in our community goes hungry or feels forgotten.

Who We Serve
Our Food Outreach Program is here for anyone in need. We welcome:
- Low-income families struggling to afford groceries and household basics
- Parents and caregivers in need of diapers and children’s supplies
- Individuals without stable access to hot meals
- Community members seeking clothing, shoes, and seasonal support
- Residents in underserved neighborhoods, reached through mobile outreach
We are ready to serve anyone experiencing hardship due to unemployment, underemployment, homelessness, or unexpected financial challenges. Whether for a season or a longer journey, our mission is to meet people with help and hope.
How You Can Help
The need is great—and growing—but you can make a tangible difference.
Donate food, diapers, or financial support to help us serve families in need with dignity and compassion. Fresh groceries and baby supplies are always in demand, and financial gifts fuel mobile outreach and daily operations. Volunteers are the heart of our work, helping distribute food, serve meals, and organize donations. We also welcome partnerships with local businesses, churches, schools, and civic groups.
