Ed Morgan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from his years in leadership. He will help to position the Mission to fully launch our Care Center and will be instrumental in the continued expansion of the Mission’s programs and services. He is the Founder and Principal of Inspirational Leadership, focused on helping non-profit CEOs and their Boards move from competence to generating high loyalty and support. He served as president and CEO of The Bowery Mission for more than 22 years, leading the 136-year old organization to a renaissance in reputation, program and effectiveness, and income. Prior to his role at The Bowery Mission, Ed had a 20-year career with General Electric, where he was in charge of creating inspirational communications for several of GE’s top officers, won several management awards, and founded an award-winning customer magazine. Ed also served on the Boards of The Association of Gospel Rescue Mission (Vice-Chair), The Geneva School of Manhattan, The Family Institute of Connecticut, Christian Leadership Alliance, Christian Heritage School, and The Christian Union. For the past three years, Ed has served as Program Director for the board excellence training offered by Citygate Network, America’s association of Rescue Missions. Ed is preparing the Mission to welcome new leadership in the future and is committed to serving our community together to meet the growing needs of Coastal Connecticut’s hungry, homeless, and addicted. Ed holds degrees from Rutgers University (AB) and the University of Illinois (MS, Mass Communications), and served as a US Air Force Officer during the Vietnam War. He and his wife Judy have three grown sons and ten grandchildren and live in Connecticut in Manhattan.
