Meet Our Leaders

Daniel Rogers
Chief Executive Officer

Daniel Rogers grew up in Lorain County in Ohio and at an early age, experienced the ill effects of generational poverty. As a result of his childhood experiences, Dan decided to pursue a lifelong goal of challenging the systems that create cycles of poverty. Dan studied psychology and theology at Mount Vernon College in Ohio, and after graduation went on to learn from and serve impoverished people groups globally. His travels and work experiences have included serving in the leper colonies of eastern India, the indigenous people of central Mexico, and city centers in various communities.

In 2001, Dan continued his passion to reverse the cycles of poverty by serving on staff at Cherry Street Mission Ministries located in Toledo, Ohio. In July 2005, he was named Cherry Street’s President and CEO. Dan is an author and a TEDx presenter. He is the recipient of the Jefferson Award for Public Service. In 2014, he received the Davenport-Longnecker Lifetime Achievement Award from the Entrepreneurial and Business Excellence Hall of Fame. In 2017, he received the Courage Award for the state of Ohio from Governor John Kasich. Dan is also the founder of StraightLine Solutions.

Dan spearheaded and was the social architect, for the development of Cherry Street’s Life Revitalization Center by facilitating social impact partnerships in order to establish a career and vocational school in central city Toledo. The Life Revitalization Center is aiding in the reversal of poverty and bringing an end to homelessness in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan.

In 2019, Dan was successfully succeeded in his position as CEO of Cherry Street to pursue the vision of increasing redemptive potential in all people, through StraightLine Solutions, by building partnerships within, and in support of, existing non-profits and community structures where the aim is to reverse poverty and eliminate homelessness.

In August 2020, Dan led Lakeside Chautauqua on the Marblehead Peninsula in northern Ohio on a one-year assignment at the CEO to reimagine the strategic process, open a restaurant, and set a structure in place to develop programs year ’round.

In October of 2021, Dan accepted the President and CEO position at Bridgeport Rescue Mission, to serve the board, staff, guests, and community in the vision of building a coastal and regional focus on reversing poverty and bringing an end to homelessness.
