Our Services

For two decades, the Mission has enhanced and expanded our programs in response to changing faces and changing needs in changing times.  Today our Christ-centered and comprehensive outreach includes:

Bridgeport Campuses 

  • Emergency shelters for homeless and displaced men, women and children
  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner free of charge for Mission students, guests and low-income members of the community every day
  • Pantry Boxes with enough food to feed a family in need for a week
  • Special holiday meals, gifts and coat distributions
  • Clothing, personal items and household goods
  • Referrals to medical legal and other social-service agencies
  • Long-term Christ-centered addiction recovery program for men and women
  • Adult education, life-skills training and GED preparation


In South Norwalk

  • Hot, nutritious meals four days a week for hungry community members
  • Gently used and new clothing for children and adults
  • Holiday distributions of warm coats and Pantry Boxes


Mobile Kitchen

  • Serving meals daily at 10 sites in Bridgeport and South Norwalk
  • Offering special holiday dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas

Pick a Day and
Stuff-A-Truck

We invite you to Stuff-A-Truck and collect nonperishable food items at your place of business, organization or church. The groceries will be used in the meals we serve year-round in our dining room or from our Mobile Kitchen.

Simply select a day you’d like to participate and the Mission will station our truck in your parking lot to receive the donations.

Guest House for
Women and Children

BRM Expands Services to
Homeless Women with Children

 

 

The Mission is excited to announce the recent acquisition by merger of Bethel Recovery Center, which will now be known as Bridgeport Rescue Mission’s Guest House for Women and Children.  This acquired facility will allow the Mission to expand and enhance much-needed services to homeless and hurting mothers with children throughout coastal Fairfield County.  Check back soon to learn how you can help support this new program through your financial and volunteer gifts.
